CUSTOM FURNITURE

Sometimes, furniture in the store just doesn't fit, it doesn't have the right shape or height or it's not made of the right wood. The pieces shown here were all made to specific dimensions and requirements and only after discussion with the person who will have it around for much longer than Gramps.

A solid mahogany Victoria tea trolley with drop leaf sides, solid brass wheels and sized to fit into a specific place in the drawing room.

Also solid mahogany - a dining table made to specific length and width to fit a particular dining room. It has additional leaves and expands to seat 8 comfortably.

I was given a single piece of Wenge - a hard S. American wood - and this is what resulted. I have since made a number of these, which can be used as individual side tables or snapped together in combinations of 2, 3 or 4 to use as a coffee table.

The top for this butcher block kitchen table was left over from the kitcher counter - and some space for the current choice of wines was needed !
